We were asked to design a site that would appeal to a variety of magazine readers, from body builders to health consious mothers-to-be. The result withstood the test of time, and remained virtually unchanged for over three years.

The Fitness Online Network is composed of a set of web sites which feature articles published in various Weider publications, including Shape, Muscle & Fitness and Flex magazines. The concept we devised for the Fitness Online portal site provided access to articles from seven of these diverse publications, organized within easily navigable categories. Additionally, each of the seven publications was represented by its own branded site.

Though the site has undergone some significant design changes, and is much reduced in scope, I'm glad to see the "bones" of the initial project are still in place.

Not only was it attractive and highly usable, the site was also technically sophisticated. Articles featured on these sites were stored in a common database, from which they were displayed in a format appropriate to the site being accessed. Site content was managed using a single proprietary content management system.

I'm very proud of this site. It looks good, it works well, and I still go there for well-written articles and workout tips.
